Luis Mazorra

Born in Mexico City, Mazorra studied at fine arts schools there and then at printing workshops such

as the U.C.L.A. Workshop in Los Angeles and Pratt Graphics Center in New York where he learned the

techniques of making fine prints and especially the methods in making these extremely textural, embossed

etchings for which he is most known. Creating a great deal of his work at the Soho Graphics Workshop

in New York, Mazorra added collage to his etchings which added another dimension to his works and made

them even more unique. Mazorra has had solo shows in galleries and expositions all over the world since his

first exhibition in Los Angeles in 1965.
